implemented by the Ozone
Cell of the
Ministry
of Environment & Forests (MoEF), Government of India
in cooperation with the Government
of Switzerland (Federal Office
for the Environment (FOEN)),
represented in India by SDC
and INFRAS Zurich, the Government
of Germany represented by
GTZ, the United
Nations Development Programme
(UNDP), the United
Nations Environment Programme
(UNEP) and the United
Nations Industrial Development
Organisation
(UNIDO).
The
Ozone
Cell in the Ministry
of Environment and Forests
of the Government of India
leads the project. Lead
agency is GTZ hosting also
the project management
unit. Training activities
are managed by INFRAS Zurich
under mandates from the
FOEN and GTZ. Investment-related
activities, such as the
Equipment Support Scheme
(ESS) for servicing firms,
are implemented by the
United Nations Development
Programme (UNDP). The United
Nations Environment Programme
(UNEP) holds the responsibility
for awareness and policy
support. The United Nations
Industrial Development
Programme (UNIDO) takes
care of all transport sector-related
phase-out activities. For

Training partners
Training
is offered through
a network of
training
cells in
the 15 States in India.
The training cells are
managed by Regional Management
Organisations (RMOs)
which coordinate the
training programmes.
IT
Power India Pvt. Ltd leads
the training initiatives
in the
South and the West,
while Quest Consulting
and Training leads
in the North and the
East of India. Companies
such as Godrej & Boyce
Mfg. Ltd., Whirlpool,
and Kirloskar
Copeland Limited also provide
their resources to
train refrigeration
servicing enterprise
technicians in addition
to their own employees
and franchisees.
