Implementing Agency – GIZ

The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH or GIZ in short is a German development agency headquartered in Bonn and Eschborn that provides services in the field of international development cooperation. GIZ mainly implements technical cooperation projects of the the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

BMZ has commissioned GIZ through its sectoral programme “GIZ-Proklima” to implement measures within the framework of the Multilateral Fund for the implementation of the Montreal Protocol (MLF).

GIZ is an Implementing Agency of the Montreal Protocol in India and has been assisting India in complying with its obligations under the Montreal Protocol and to reduce its consumption of Ozone Depleting Substances (ODSs).

Under HPMP Stage-I GIZ has been implementing the service sector component, which involves training of refrigeration and air-conditioning (RAC) service technicians working independently as well as in institutions and small and medium enterprises consuming HCFC – 22 for servicing purposes.
